TRAINING TWICE THE RISK OF LOSING

Chief trainer Freddie Roach has called on that Manny Pacquaio has to be in good shape as his preparation for his fight against the 32-year-old Antonio Margarito in Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas, USA on November 13, 2010.

Filipinos, who have followed Pacman's boxing career since then, have also cared that much in his preparations for the fight. Knowing that the Mexican Margarito has both the height and reach advantage, we only have to expect that the country's champ should be in good shape.

With this time around, Manny has become occupied with training sessions including morning jogs and sparring rounds with Glen Tapia (7-0, 5 KOs) and Michael Medina (24-2-2, 19 KOs), his responsibility as a congressman, and other demands out of his control. That is, Manny sometimes ended up having his trainings in effect cramming, which is not a good thing according to WBC founding secretary general Rudy Salud. His formidable speed is not enough.

The pound-for-pound king should first pull off, with due process, from his responsibilities as a congressman. Of course, we don't want him showing up always in Congress and doing his job, and ended up lose the fight. Moreover, he should refrain from his more nightly games of basketball which would just make him tired all night long, unable him to jog the ensuing morning.

We understand that Margarito is also in the course of knocking out Pacquiao. He is in the quest of making his way to vouch in a better name in world boxing arena. The Tijuana Tornado told the Mexican media that he has what it takes to knock out Pacquiao.

If Manny would win the November 13th bout, it's another blessing from above. A proof that he's, indeed, a living boxing legend. I'm exaggerating, man! On one hand, if he's going to lose by all means, it's an unfortunate consequence.

The Filipino ring icon's courage, confidence, will power, speed, and brilliant coaches are just not enough. After all, the world belongs to the most prepared.
