Little things, if only our probing eyes can see, are really those things that can make up a whole thing, an entire picture. Sometimes, true happiness comes from chunks of little moments accumulated from our small hours every day. Surprisingly, we can find perfect moments in a day when we least expect it. According to Robert Brault, we really have to enjoy these little things, for one day, we may look back and realize that they were the big things. I do agree completely. And, it is somewhat obvious that what makes up our ideal whole is this universe of golden hours spent with freedom and responsibilities.

Humans as we are, we tend to drift our attention to big things, setting aside these little things which make up this whole of big things. Most often in a day, we forget to realize how lucky we are having the air we breathe, seeing such clouds dancing in blue yonder, watching these kids playing ‘tumbang preso,’ listening to Nature’s resonance of instances for us to be happy, committing mistake and learning from it as part of growing up, reminiscing cherished memories before the setting or rising sun, getting amazed by these billowing waves, leaving footprints in pristine beaches, taking pictures of these sprawling cityscapes, noticing baby’s yawns, cries and laughter, among others.

Actually, if we have to document what’s going on in our lives the time we wake up to the minute we tuck ourselves in bed, perhaps we may discover how lovely are these small hours. Lucky are those who keep fraction of their time daily to be keen enough in sensing these small pleasures from life’s small hours. By doing this daily accounting of what we did the whole day, we may have ended each day with this bucket list of acknowledgment and gratitude emphasizing how sweet it is to be living, to be keeping alive.

Most often, we’re engrossed to make a living which we tend to forget creating a life instead. We have to remember that we’re here on this beautiful Earth to experience this life–being God’s priceless present for us all. What makes this present more memorable and meaningful is to let it lived to the fullest, pushed to the limits.

Right there, right now, appreciate those people and things that surround you. They are your significant others helping you to discover your true and best self and to create life of your own. Say ‘I love you’ more often. Smile to strangers. Tickle your best friend. Pat someone’s back. Empathize to the weary. Look for instances which would make you happy. Create a life. Share it to the world. Inspire the youth. Notice and enjoy little things. The more you pay attention to these chunks of beautiful and teachable moments everyday, the more you’ve come to appreciate and to realize that you’re here on this vast and mysterious universe because you’ve got something to live for.
